NEW YORK, November 13, 2015 — Reporters covering the nearly 12 states where high wind advisories have been issued can contact the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) for information, analysis and claims filing information.

Days after snow fell in Colorado and a tornado touched down in Iowa, the Midwest saw the emergence of the “November Witch”, a phrase used throughout much of the Midwest to describe the strong winds that traditionally blow across the Great Lakes in the fall.
